FOTA – the leader of the spare parts market in Poland
Fota is the leading distributor of Polish spare parts for personal cars and trucks with ca. 10% share of the market. The firm has got distribution network and runs the biggest network of independent workshops, Leader Service and Leader Service Truck. Moreover Fota offers its own brand of spare parts, KAGER.
Fota provides spare parts of most European suppliers. All in all the Company cooperates with about 200 firms in this regard, including some of the most reputable spare parts manufacturers such as ZF Trading (Sachs), Bosch, SKF and Federal Mogul. The Company’s customers are mostly car workshops but also automobile accessories shops and wholesales.
Apart from spare parts sold under the brand names of manufacturers, the Company distributes spare parts of its own brand, KAGER. Three years since the launch of the brand Fota offers 22 thousand parts in 47 production lines. At present the share of the KAGER brand in the Company’s sales amounts to 18 KAGER products are manufactured by established automotive companies, e.g. Bosch and Metelli.
The distribution network of Fota includes a modern logistics centre in Łódź, 8 regional warehouses and domestic branches, which is the highest figure in this sector. The area of the central warehouse amounts to 26 thou. m². The logistics centre fulfils about 420 thousand orders per month. As a result about 1 million parts leave the warehouse a month. In many parts of Poland the effective distribution system provides for filling an order within 1 hour since it has been placed. This fast fulfillment of orders is possible also with the on-line sale via Internet. In 2000 Fota was the first distributor in Poland to start this way of purchase. At present the Company receives about 7 thousand orders per day via this channel.
Moreover the Company runs workshop programmes: Leader Service and Leader Service Truck. The programmes consist independent workshops that are supplied by Fota with spare parts. Moreover Fota assists in obtaining finances necessary for purchases of equipment and offers trainings.
Since last year Fota has been developing international projects of Fota International. It has established three companies in prospective markets: Ukraine, Hungary and Czech Republic, where it operates warehouses.
Capital Group
The Capital Group is headed by Fota S.A., whose business involves managing the Group and its operation on the Polish market.
Last year the Company started to expand its operations on European markets by establishing three subsidiaries that distribute spare parts:
- Fota Czech Republic (100% shares)
- Fota Hungary (100% shares)
- Fota Ukraine (70% shares, the rest of the shares held by a Ukrainian partner)
Fota employs ca. 700 people.
